LifeLines - Vision

by bhairab last modified 2008-10-03 12:14

LifeLines has demonstrated the power of digitally engineered information delivery to people in remote rural locations and the emergence of a true multi-stakeholder partnership.

LifeLines has also been featured as part of CNBC's "Responsible Business" series. OneWorld South Asia believes this innovative knowledge service can be best sustained through a community-oriented business model that while creating direct economic values, also ensures social returns on investment to the target community, stakeholders and policy makers.

OneWorld is now focussed on forging new partnerships to explore the potential of the platform to other applications. Dialogues are in progress to take LifeLines to new domains and new locations, even beyond India.

There are also requests from the Governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka to replicate the service in their countries.

As LifeLines transforms itself from a CSR-funded project to a mix of social enterprise and public goods, it in chorus seeks to transform lives through innovative sustainable e-enabled rural services in India and beyond.
