Vision:
The LifeLines India service in agriculture aims to steadily expand its presence across India, covering an increasing number of villages reaching 1000 in the current year, and covering 3000 villages by 2010.
Some of the proposed expansion plans are listed below:
- Expansion of LifeLines Agriculture to new districts of UP and MP in partnership with TARAhaat & Datamation Foundation; Bihar, Chhattisgarh, east and north MP
- Partnership with Common Services Centers (CSCs) in states like Haryana, Goa, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh
- Further expansion of LifeLines Agriculture is in the preparatory stages of being explored in association with IL & FS / DIT in Baramati, Maharashtra and MPRLP in Madhya Pradesh
Extension beyond India:
Engagement with Gemidiriya Community Development and Livelihood Improvement Project in Sri Lanka for information support on their community operations manual and knowledge services on livelihood and income opportunities.
Possible extension of Lifelines to HIV/AIDS domain in Africa:
OWSA has been working with OW Africa, to use Lifelines services for providing relevant information and counseling on HIV/AIDS – with possible support from other donor consortium. At the first instance, the service would be to all 72 districts of Zambia (OWA is based in Zambia). The development & customization work may get developed by the end of year 2007 and make the service operational during 2008-09.

Extending LifeLines to the Education domain:
Success of the LifeLines service in the agriculture domain has prompted its extension to the education sector as well. Thus the LifeLines - Education service has now been started in West Bengal where it is providing critical academic support to teachers in remote, rural areas of the state.
